Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 4, here's its review

| |
0 comments

Introduction

From an oddball that everyone was laughing at to becoming one of the most important Samsung announcement of the year - the Note series got to a place where now everyone else wants to be in too, including Apple. Samsung isn't in too big a trouble just yet, but profits just can't keep climbing forever and the company needs the Galaxy Note 4 to become a success in a way the Galaxy S5 couldn't.
That's some heavy burden to carry, even more so considering competition is at an all-time high, now that Apple finally entered the phablet game. Yet the fifth Galaxy Note phablet (you didn't forget the Note 3 Neo, did you?) is as well prepared as one could hope for. Amazing hardware is what put the Notes on the map, but two generations after the original the software support finally caught up to make last year's Galaxy Note 3 a genuinely exclusive package.

Now the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes to finally add the last seemingly missing piece of the puzzle - the exclusive design. A metal frame and a curved glass over the screen along with a refined faux leather back work together to make the latest phablet one of the handsomest pieces of hardware around. And as you can see in the list below, Samsung didn't have to make compromises elsewhere.

Key features

  • 5.7" 16M-color QHD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with curved Gorilla Glass 3
  • Android OS v4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI
  • LTE Cat 6 support
  • Quad-core 2.7GHz Krait 450 CPU, Adreno 420 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 16MP OIS camera with 2160p video recording @ 30fps, 1080p @ 60fps, 720p @ 120fps
  • 3.7MP front-facing camera, 1080p video recording
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA, Download booster
  • GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS
  • 32GB of built-in storage; microSD card slot
  • S Pen stylus
  • Enhanced Multi-window multitasking support
  • Fingerprint scanner with PayPal support and private mode access
  • microUSB 2.0 port with USB host and MHL 2.0
  • Bluetooth v4.0
  • NFC
  • IR port for remote control functionality
  • Standard 3.5mm audio jack
  • Accelerometer and proximity sensor
  • Heart-rate monitor
  • Active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic
  • 3,220mAh battery

Main disadvantages

  • Rear-mounted mono speaker
  • microUSB 2.0 is a downgrade over microUSB 3.0 on the Note 3
  • The uneven gap between the metal frame and curved screen glass takes a few points away from an otherwise excellent build
  • No enhanced resistance to liquids or dust
  • Wireless charging support only with an optional back cover
The first QHD AMOLED screen and the first Snapdragon 805 smartphone to go global as well as the best S Pen yet - the list of things for Galaxy Note 4 owners to brag about is certainly not a short one. But a flagship's worth is not in the number of exclusive features - the areas where it fails count double against it. And while the Galaxy Note 4 has very few things to be ashamed of, it's our duty to check against any nasty surprises.

#1. Prank your Friends by Changing their Profile Picture

funny-scary-images
Well just found this awesome trick, if you want to prank your friends by displaying then how they actually appear in your profile, then we have any trick for that. Actually by doing some files replacement you can change the actual profile pic of you friend pretty easily to any image.
  1. Well just search for some nice scary or funny image that you think could easily paralyze your friends on how they actually look. (just search these images on Google Image search).
  2. Now after you have found a nice image just make sure to resize the image to 561 X 561 Pixel dimension as its must. (you can use RIOT image resizing feature for this).
  3. Now you need to navigate to the following path SD Card > Whatsapp > Profile Pictures.
  4. Now you will see your friends profile pictures with name's similar to their phone numbers with prefix attached to it.
  5. Now just rename your new image to that same file name and then replace the old image with the one.
  6. Well for iOS device use iFunBox to do this same trick and on android you can use a nice file manager to achieve this effect.
Now simply restart your device and your new profile pic will be rocking, now simply show and ask your friend what kind of profile picture they have uploaded it looks ugly, they will be amazed :p

#2. Getting back Deleted Messages on Whatsapp !

Deleted few conversations mistakenly, wanted to get all those conversation back as it means you a lot, well you might not be aware about the automated Whatsapp backup that it creates everyday @ 4PM which is actually store in the SD Card of your Android Device, well we are going to see how you can easily restore that database.
  1. Navigate to the Whatsapp Database folder, SD Card > Whatsapp > Databases.
  2. In the database folder you will see some files something like msgstore-2014-01-04.1.db.crypt. So as you can see these files even contain the date on which its created + you will also see a file msgstore.db.crypt, well this is the main file.
  3. So now just rename this file msgstore.db.crypt to something like backup-msgstore.db.crypt.
  4. Now after you have successfully renamed your file, just change the another file that contains the appropriate date like choose the one that's latest or the one you think that might contain your chat conversation.
  5. Get-back-deleted-whatsapp-messagesSo now rename that file to msgstore.db.crypt and then the last step is to navigate to Setting > Applications > manage applications > Whatsapp, and click on Clear Data option to remove all the data.
  6. That's it now your msgstore.db.crypt will be restored and obviously that the file that contains your chat conversation.
  7. So now as soon as you open your WhatsApp again it will ask you to restore from the Backup.
  8. Just press Restore option and everything will be restores pretty easily.
So guys this was the easiest but little but lengthy way to restore your deleted conversation on WhatsApp. So now do no worry in case you have to delete those conversation you know where and how to restore then later :)

Well thinking if there is any easy way by not restoring your file onto the whatsapp messenger but still wanna have a look on what conversation you had, well there is awesome online service called "RecoverMesages.com" that allows you to upload your .crypt file that you got from your SD Card online and view your messages easily, well just visit the above mentioned website , upload your date and hit SCAN.

#3. Hide Last Seen Time from your WhatsApp Profile

  1. Open WhatsApp application on your device.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Chat Settings > Advanced > Last Seen Timestamp.

#4. Hide One Image into Another for Nice Prank :p

magiapp-whatsappWell you might have faced this thing but you might ignored as you thought it could not be possible, but yes you can easily fake any image by just simply using original image as your masked image and using another image as your fake image.
Well we will be using the Magiapp for Android that will allow you to hold two images one your True Image and the other one will be your Fake image that will shown when someone clicks on your original image.

#5. Hacking your Friends WhatsApp Conversation :)

Well now the same trick mentioned in the first step can be used in order to hack your friends WhatsApp conversation. You can easily snatch the .crypt files from your friends SD Card and then view them online using the RecoverMessages website.
  1. Just try to explore the friends SD Card and navigate to SD Card > Whatsapp > Database folder.
  2. Here you will two files -msgstore-yyyy..dd..db.crypt which will exactly contain date and year when the backup was created.
  3. Simply copy this files to your computer and then upload this file to "RecoverMesages.com" to view them online.
That's it now you have easily hacked your friends Whatsapp Database, now you can view all the conversation and even ask him about his or her crush ;p, so guys this how hacking Whatsapp conversation works, so enjoy.

#6. Password Lock your WhatsApp Application

whatsapp-lock-androidAre you really serious about the security and privacy for your Whatsapp conversation, well now just add a nice password on your Whatsapp application, so that no one else except you can open your Whatsapp account.
  1. Download & Install WhatsApp Lock for Android.
  2. It's a simple application that allows you to add a four digit lock passcode to your Whatsapp application.
  3. Now after installing the application it will ask you to store a four digit passcode, just do that.
  4. It even contains an Auto Locking feature that will lock your Whatsapp automatically after sometime.
The best thing about this application is that if someone enters wrong passcode few times then if your phone contains the front camera then it will capture the image of the intruder and store it safely.

Google confirms new Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 release date

Google has officially unveiled the hugely anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Nexus 7 alongside Android Jelly Bean 4.3, adding in a better display, high-end spec, and optional support for LTE.
The new Nexus 7 will available to buy from Google Play on July 30 in the US, with a UK release revealed as September 13 according to retailer PC World who is retailing the 16GB Wi-Fi only model for £199.99 and the 32GB version for £239.99.
Dubbed the Nexus 7 2 ahead of launch, Google has now confirmed the slate will carry the same namesake as its predecessor, so from here on out we’ll refer to it by its given name: Nexus 7.
Running Android 4.3, the updated Nexus 7 features a 7-inch 1200x1920 pixel display with a truly pin-sharp pixel density of 323ppi. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro chipset and also features 2GB of RAM and storage options of 16GB & 32GB. Google has also added in two cameras: a 5-megapixel setup on the back and a 1.2-megapixel on the front for selfies and video calling.
The Nexus 7 has no physical navigation keys and you’ll find the volume rocker and power key located on the right hand side of the device. The bezel is still pretty thick although Asus has vastly improved the overall design and finish of the Nexus 7, adding an element of gloss that just wasn’t present on its predecessor.

Nexus 7 Specs

  • OS: Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system
  • Processor: 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 with Adreno 320 GPU
  • Wi-Fi: 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN
  • RAM: 2GB DDR3LM memory
  • Display: 7-inch (1920 x 1200 resolution) LCD 10-finger capacitive IPS display with 300 cd/m² brightness, 178-degres viewing angles, and anti-fingerprint technology to minimise smudging
  • Storage: 16GB on-board storage
  • Cameras: 5.0-megapixel rear-facing camera & 1.2-megapixel front-facing setup
  • Connections: Micro USB 2.0 port with SlimPort + Bluetooth 4.0 + NFC
  • Weight: 317.5 grams
  • Thickness: 7.62mm
  • Sensors: G-sensor, ambient light, Ecompass, gyroscope and proximity.

Android 4.3: New Features Detailed

Below are all the new additions you can expect to see inside Android 4.3. Most are back-end tweaks but once developers get hold of them the results on the front-end inside apps and games should be astounding.
  • OpenGL ES 3.0 — Game developers can now take advantage of OpenGL ES 3.0 and EGL extensions as standard features of Android, with access from either framework or native APIs.
  • Bluetooth Smart — Now your apps can communicate with the many types of low-power Bluetooth Smart devices and sensors available today, to provide new features for fitness, medical, location, proximity, and more.
  • Restricted profiles — Tablet owners can create restricted profiles to limit access to apps, for family, friends, kiosks, and more. Your app can offer various types of restrictions to let tablet owners control its capabilities in each profile.
  • New media capabilities — A modular DRM framework enables media application developers to more easily integrate DRM into their own streaming protocols such as MPEG DASH. Apps can also access a built-in VP8 encoder from framework or native APIs for high-quality video capture.
  • Notification access — Your apps can now access and interact with the stream of status bar notifications as they are posted. You can display them in any way you want, including routing them to nearby Bluetooth devices, and you can update and dismiss notifications as needed.
  • Improved profiling tools — New tags in the Systrace tool and on-screen GPU profiling give you new ways to build great performance into your app.

Call from a Unknown Number is common but some calls are mysterious and Criminal in nature. So In this post; I will Explain in Detail to you about How to teach such callers a lesson which they will never-ever forget.....
When you Get a call from a unknown number first important thing to do is to note down the number

!! After you note down the number follow these steps carefully:

~~~:: STEPS ::~~~
1. The first step is to Find the unknown number's Operator. For that you can take the help of Mobile number Tracing sites. Here are some usefull Links:
Indiatrace.com - Mobile Number Location Trace
BharatiyaMobile.com - Trace Indian Mobile Location & Operator
Go to any of the above links; Type the Unknown number and note down the Results. The result will be the "Operator Name" and "State".
Suppose your Unknown number is 9876547892 : After Tracing we Get the Result : "Punjab" & "Airtel".
2. Now starts the Trick: Search for the Ten Digit customer care Number of the Unknown number; Every state has a different customer care number; so be careful.
[NOTE: Search for 10 Digit customer care Number]
In my case I should search for Punjab - Airtel's 10 digit customer care number.
3. After you find the 10 digit customer care number - Call the customer care from a different Operator (Different from the Unknown Numbers Operator)
Suppose the Unknown Number uses Airtel; You should call from other Operators SIM like BSNL, Reliance, Docomo, Idea or Vodafone
4. When connected the customer care opt you for Languge selection.
5. After Language selection they will ask you: Are you a current User of xxxxx operator??
So Press "YES" or say "YES"
In my case they will ask me Are you a current User of Airtel?? So i will say "Yes"
6. Now they will ask you to enter the 10 digit Mobile Number (UNKNOWN NUMBER)
In my case I will enter 9876547892
7. Now they will ask you to enter a password. So enter:- 1234
[1234 is the default password of sim card; Most of us do not change SIM Password so there is 95% success rate of 1234]
8. After you successfully enter the Password - Now its your turn to seek Revenge.
* You can Know the Balance and Validity
* Activate Caller tune services
* Activate other Packs or subscribe V.A.S
* And many other things.
~~: : : : IMPORTANT NOTE : : : : ~~
Don't use against INNOCENT people
The Best Android Tips and Tricks
Hello friends did u use android phone and wanted its cool tricks then u come to a right place........................... :)
How to Switch between Open Apps
Switch between Open AppsWhen running an app, you can minimize it by simply tapping the Home iconHome-16.png. Getting back to it is not just one click on the taskbar like the way you do in Windows. But the Android way is pretty straightforward too.
  1. Tap the Recent Apps iconRecent-Apps-16.png to reveal the apps that you recently opened. (Note 2)
  2. Slide down to see more recent apps.
  3. Tap a screenshot from the list to instantly switch to the app.
Note 1: You can clear the recent apps from the list by swiping them sideways one by one.
Note 2: On Android 2.x, touch and hold the Home button to reveal recent apps.
How to Close a Running App
The Android system doesn't need you to close a running app for every instance. But in some cases you may need to force stop an app that's misbehaving, or like playing a game, you may need to actually close the app in order to start a new level rather than continuing the last. Here are the steps to follow:
  1. Run the Settings app and tap Apps under DEVICE.
  2. Select the app you want to close.
  3. Tap the 'Force stop' button and tap 'OK' to confirm.
How to Set and Clear a Default App
Set and Clear a Default AppIn Android, you can set a file to open with a certain program by default as you do in Windows. For example, if you have installed an image viewer such as QuickPic, the system will ask you to select an app when you try to open an image file (See the screenshot).
  • To set a default app to open the file, check 'Use by default for this action' before you tap that app.
The next time you tap an image file, it will always open with the app you've selected without asking you again.
What if you need to clear the default app?
  1. Run the Settings app and tap Apps under DEVICE.
  2. Choose the app you do not want to launch by default.
  3. Tap 'Clear defaults' under LAUNCH BY DEFAULT.
How to Uninstall an App
Uninstall an AppInstalling apps from the Google Play store to your Android device is convenient, likewise removing them is pretty straightforward.
  1. Tap the All Apps iconAll-Apps.png on the tray and select the Apps tab on the top.
  2. Touch and hold the icon of the app you want to uninstall.
  3. Drag and drop the app icon over the Uninstall icon then tap 'OK' to confirm. (The Uninstall icon appears only for the app that can be uninstalled from the system.)
Alternatively, you can run the Settings app, tap Apps under DEVICE then select the app you want to uninstall from the list.
How to Add and Remove Icons from Home Screens
When you install an app, the system often adds an app icon on your home screen. This icon works as a shortcut to run the app. In case you need to manually add an app icon or a widget icon yourself, it's pretty easy.
  1. Tap the All Apps iconAll-Apps.png on the tray.
  2. Select the Apps or Widgets tab on the top.
  3. Remove app iconsTouch and hold the icon you want to create a shortcut.
  4. Drag and drop the icon on a home screen you like.
To remove an icon from your home screen:
  1. Touch and hold the icon of apps, widgets or shortcuts until the Remove icon appears on the top.
  2. Drag and drop the icon over the Remove icon.
Note: On Android 2.x, you can add a shortcut icon by touching and holding an empty location of a home screen or press Menu then tap 'Add'; On Android 3.0, touch the customize buttoncustomize-icon-16.png at the top right of a home screen to add a shortcut icon.
How to Re-arrange Icons
Re-arrange IconsWhen you install new apps to your Android, the system stacks up the icons automatically without asking you to select a home screen. But you can subsequently re-arrange the icons on the home screens and on the tray.
  1. Touch and hold any icon on your screen for a second.
  2. Drag the icon to a different spot on the screen, or even to or from the tray, except for the permanent "All Apps" icon.
  3. You can also drag an icon to the left or right edge of the screen until it starts sliding, then drop the icon to another screen.
How to Create, Rename and Remove Folders
Other than the apps on the tray, sometimes it's difficult to quickly look for an app to open if you have many icons spreading across a few home screens. Why not create a folder to group similar apps together? It's much easier than you might think.
  1. Create a Folder for AppsTouch and hold any icon for a second.
  2. Drag the icon over the top of another. The system then automatically groups two app icons in a folder.
  3. Touch the folder, then tap "Unnamed Folder", key in a name for the folder and tap "Done".
You can rename a folder at any time—tap a folder then tap its name to rename.
While the system auto creates a folder for you, it does the same to removing a folder automatically—tap a folder to expand it, then clear all grouped items inside the folder—just touch and hold, then drag them out from the folder one by one.
Note: Older Android system doesn't support this feature, but you can rely on a third-party app such as GO Launcher EX to achieve almost the same effect.
How to Type Faster with Multiple Spaces
Instead of typing a period at the end of each sentence and follow by a space, you can tap the space bar twice to get the same result.
How to Type Special Characters
If you often need to switch between the on-screen Alphabet and Number keyboards just to type a comma in a sentence, then why not check out below to find out more?
Type Special CharactersWhile on the Alphabet keyboard:
How to Cut, Copy and Paste
Cut, Copy and PasteThis looks simple but can be tricky sometimes when you use different apps. In general, these steps can be used in Email or some other apps:
  1. Double-tap or touch-and-hold to select a word.
  2. Drag the handles to adjust the area if needed, then tap Cut or Copy.
  3. Tap an insert point, and drag the handle to adjust it if needed.
  4. Select Paste (Hint: tab the handle when the 'Paste' button doesn't appear).
Note: When working in a web browser such as Android's Browser, use touch-and-hold to select a word since "double-tap" has been used to enlarge or reduce a webpage.
How to Turn Off Auto-Correction
Auto-CorrectionWhen you're typing through, the system checks your spelling and suggests a few words. Unless you've selected one of them, the highlighted suggested word overwrites your word when you finish typing it followed by a space, punctuation mark or return character. If you feel that's annoying, you can turn off Auto-Correction.
  1. Open the app Settings and select 'Language & input' under PERSONAL.
  2. Tap the Quick Settings iconQuick-Settings.png next to 'Android keyboard'.
  2. Tap Display under DEVICE.
  3. Uncheck "Auto-rotate screen".
Your screen will then lock to the portrait mode. To unlock it, check the above option.
How to Print Screen
  1. Press and hold down the Power and Volume-down buttons simultaneously.
  2. Open the Gallery app, and you can see your screenshot already saved in the Screenshots album.
Note: Older Android system doesn't support this feature, but it has a more complicated way to take screenshots using Android SDK such as this without rooting the device.
  1. Touch and hold an empty location of a home screen.
  • Depending on the notification type, you can swipe a notification sideway to dismiss it, or tap the X-sign to dismiss all from the list.
  • To access a notification, tap it and you're taken to the related email, reminder, message or app. The notification then clears automatically from the list where applicable.
Note: When you slide down from the top of the screen, you can also see this Quick Settings iconQuick-Settings_blue16.png. Touching this icon is equivalent to running the Settings app.
